Anselm Pahnke is a celebrated documentary filmmaker, explorer and keynote speaker renowned for his ability to inspire courage, resilience and human connection in times of uncertainty. Best known for his 15,000 km solo bicycle expedition across 15 African countries and his award-winning documentary “Elsewhere. Alone in Africa” (available on Netflix), Anselm uses his lived experiences to guide audiences on how to navigate complexity with confidence, empathy and clarity.

Originally trained as a geophysicist, Anselm combines scientific thinking with raw human adventure. His storytelling blends personal transformation with actionable insights on leadership, risk-taking, trust and inner strength. His work has been featured by major media such as ARD, ZDF, 3sat, GEO, Süddeutsche Zeitung, ZEIT Online and Spiegel.

Beyond the stage and screen, Anselm builds sustainable tiny houses and co-founded “Die Kleinstadt”, an innovative community living project in Germany. His journey reflects his belief that true growth begins at the edge of our comfort zones.
